The IFSH library is a specialized scientific library with a collection focusing primarily on peace research, security policy, European security, arms control, international organizations and related areas. It also includes an OSCE depository library in which all relevant documents of the OSCE, literature about the OSCE, relationships between majorities and minorities, as well as national studies on Southeastern Europe and Central Asia are held.
The IFSH Library is primarily open to scholars, PhD students and the students of the MPS program. However, the library may also be used by students of the University of Hamburg and the interested public.
Thursday 2.00 - 5.00 pm and by appointment.
- The IFSH library is a reference library. No items may be borrowed, except for photocopying.
- Only items currently available may be provided. Items that have been borrowed by internal users cannot be reserved by other users.
- No copying machines are available in the library. Please bring your identity card, if you wish to borrow items to make copies or use our bookscanner (USB-Stick required).
- Before visiting us, please inform yourself about our collection through the Campus Catalogue. Holdings are not freely accessible (closed-stack library).
