Vita
Martin Böhm has been a researcher at IFSH in Hamburg since October 2022. The General Staff Officer has worked since 2015 primarily as an analyst for the Middle East and in the area of NATO Strategic Communications. Martin Böhm studied history, cognitive science and comparative literature at the University of Potsdam. There he wrote his doctoral thesis on the conceptual, strategic and intellectual development of the British Air Force, with a special focus on the influence of thought and perception processes. Parallel to his training on the National General/Admiral Staff Officer Course, Martin Böhm completed the postgraduate Master's programme "Military Leadership and International Security" at Helmut Schmidt University/University of the Federal Armed Forces Hamburg.
Research Profile | Current Projects
Martin Böhm deals with various aspects of security and defence policy as well as armed forces. He expands the research of the IFSH by contributing military expertise and military policy and promotes civil-military exchange relations. Martin Böhm also teaches for the Master of Peace and Security Studies programme.
