The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation has renewed a grant for a project on the reduction of the role of tactical nuclear weapons in European security. Over the next 12 months, project partners IFSH, the Arms Control Association and the British American Security Information Council will organize seminars and roundtables on nuclear arms control and the future of nuclear deterrence. Goals of the project include the promotion of discussions within NATO on the reduction of the role of tactical nuclear weapons in the Alliance's defense policy and an analysis of options for including tactical nuclear weapons in future arms control agreements. More information on the project can be found at Link.
