From November 20-22 the first workshop of the Nuclear Expert Talks (N.EX.T.) took place in Berlin. The Workshop on "The Crisis of Nuclear Arms Control and Disarmament" was part of the N.EX.T. project which is being jointly conducted by the IFSH and the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung (hbs). N.EX.T. brings together 15 mid-career professionals in the field of nuclear policies from Europe, Russia and the United States with the aim of formulating novel approaches to the goal of nuclear disarmament and arms control. The two-days discussion was opened by Angela Kane, former UN High Representative for Disarmament Affairs. In early 2017 the hbs will publish an edited volume based on the deliberations of participants in the workshop.
