New OSCE Insights publications about European security

The three new OSCE Insights publications discuss pertinent issues of European security covering climate change, security in the Baltics, and intra-state dialogue in Ukraine. In his contribution, Anselm Vogler analyses the interconnections between climate and security and explores how the OSCE, including its Parliamentary Assembly, can respond effectively. Vello Pettai presents Latvia’s 2022 policy on language and security requirements for long-term Russian Federation citizens residing in the country. Pettai examines the challenges related to the implementation of this policy and its security implications for the region. Finally, Vera Axyonova and Tetiana Kyselova examine the OSCE’s attempts to foster intra-Ukrainian dialogue before and after February 2022. They demonstrate that maintaining trust within communities and strengthening communication channels between central government authorities and the public is crucial to societal resilience in Ukraine.
