The IFSH, together with the the Bucerius Law School (BLS) staged[nbsp] a successful workshop between 19-20 April 2012 on the topic of ‚Private Security Providers for protection against dangers on the high seas. Challenges from practical, legal and political science perspectives’. The workshop took place in Hamburg’s State and University Library. Participants, in addition to academics, notably included representatives from relevant authorities and ministries, shipping companies, insurers, associations, and security services. Hans-Georg Ehrhart, Patricia Schneider and Kerstin Petretto took part as panel chairs or as discussants, and led the workshop together with their colleagues from the BLS.
