Research Profile | Current Projects

Matthew Rendall’s early research focused on large-scale war and peace, including topics such as great power concerts, democratic peace theory and collective security. Much of this work tested theories of war and peace through historical case studies, with a focus on Russian foreign policy in the Concert of Europe (1815-54). In more recent papers, he has examined the ethics of climate change. At present, his research focuses on the philosophy and politics of existential risk.
