On 8th September 2022, the Berlin Office of the Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy hosted a roundtable discussion with Beatrice Fihn, the executive director of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN). The panellists, mainly from civil society and research, exchanged views on current issues of arms control and nuclear weapons. The main topics of the discussion were the First Meeting of States Parties to the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW), the Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) in New York and the role of Germany in these forums.
