IFSH Director at International History Festival histoCON

On 21 and 22 October, the German Federal Agency for Civic Education hosted the digital, interactive and international history festival histoCON. The aim was for young people from all over the world to discuss the continuities and ruptures that followed the Second World War. Three different live events addressed the topics of colonialism and cultures of remembrance as well as the question of how peace can be ensured sustainably and how human rights can be protected now and in future.

IFSH Director Professor Dr Ursula Schröder contributed to the latter topic, illustrating why war exists to begin with and explaining the conditions under which peace missions can succeed, as well as why the United Nations should be strengthened.

The complete talk with Professor Dr Ursula Schröder at histoCON 2021 can be viewed here (begin at 11-minute mark).
