The new design aims to increase IFSH’s visibility in politics, the media and civil society. It also seeks to emphasize the strength of Hamburg as an excellent location for science in Germany. Peace, security and violence have been on the research agenda in Hamburg for decades. With its new design, IFSH contributes to demonstrating Hamburg’s role as a hub for research activities in these areas. “Our new design underlines the strategic realignment of the institute”, explains Prof. Ursula Schroeder, director of the IFSH. With new publication formats and a new communication strategy, the IFSH seeks to make its research results more readily available. “Our issues play a prominent role in the media almost every day”, explains Prof. Schroeder. “Armament, radical right-wing violence, peace and security in Europe – these topics concern not only our researchers here at the institute, but really are of public interest.”
