New Project on Nuclear Warhead Authentication

In March 2021, a new research project started working on nuclear disarmament verification. The authentication of nuclear weapons ensures that an object is indeed a nuclear weapon. In this project, Christopher Fichtlscherer and Moritz Kütt study how cheating attempts in the verification process can be prevented. Therefore, the project applies physics, continuing the longstanding tradition of natural science research at IFSH. The project is funded by the German Foundation for Peace Research (DSF).

Additional information for the project can be found on the project’s website and on the website of the DSF.
