JobDay2020

Once you’ve completed the IFSH’s programme Master of Peace and Security Studies… then what? What career paths are available to you? Where are programme alumni working now? Once a year, the MPS alumni association organises a JobDay for MPS students. Over the course of an afternoon, the students focus on job opportunities and prospects in various career fields. Career counselling sessions with employees from the University of Hamburg’s Career Center, networking opportunities and knowledge sharing with respect to past work experiences were all part of the program for this year’s JobDay. In addition, three MPS alumni shared their career experiences. Moritz Rohde, who studies at the IFSH from 2016 to 2017, talked about his work as an analyst for the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in Kabul. Stelle Peters (MPS 2014/2015) provided the students with insight into her role as a journalist for the Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR). Tobias Taube (MPS 2014/2015) landed in the business sector. He talked about his job at Lufthansa Industry Solutions. All three alumni made an effective case for how the MPS degree added value to their respective careers. Dr Patricia Schneider, IFSH Academic Coordinator, said, “We would like to thank all the participants and especially the board of the MPS alumni association for organising a great JobDay!”
