The OSCE Network of Think Tanks and Academic Institutions is a non-governmental initiative engaing in policy advice and trust-building (Track II initiative). Network members from across the OSCE area are engaged in scholarly and policy analysis on OSCE-relevant issues and produce joint reports. The Network works closely with the national delegations to the OSCE in Vienna but is neither an OSCE structure nor subordinated to the OSCE or its participating states. The IFSH has co-founded the Network and is also coordinating it. Inspired by OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier in 2011, over a dozen research institutions created the Network in June 2013. Since then, the Network had grown to 100 institutions from over 40 countries.
