The OSCE Network of Think Tanks and Academic Institutions was a Track II initiative that promoted knowledge transfer, facilitated transnational research, and helped raise the visibility of the OSCE. Inspired by OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier and together with over a dozen research institutions, the IFSH’s Centre for OSCE Research (CORE) co-founded the Network in June 2013 and coordinated its activities until the end of 2023. By then, the OSCE Network comprised around 150 member institutions from over 40 participating States. It produced numerous publications and organized events, including in states hosting OSCE field operations. The OSCE Network was supported by the German Federal Foreign Office and various other participating States.
