On 18 February 2021, the University of Hamburg welcomed its Germany Scholarship holders at a digital 2021 award ceremony. Among the more than 200 participants of the ceremony were also the selected students of the "Master of Peace and Security" (M.A.): Christoph Bogner, Elisabeth Faria Lopes, Cornelius Haritz, Kristina Stier and Yannik Roscher.
Dr. Patricia Schneider from the IFSH was the representative of the " Peace Research Sponsering Association " (VFIF e.V.) which co-financed four scholarships. The couple Prof. Michael Brzoska and Eveline von Hoffmann also took part as donors.
As part of the online award ceremony, an "orchestra" of sponsors and scholarship holders, founded especially for the occasion, performed an excerpt from Haendel's Water Music. Our MPS alumni Wolfgang Lohbeck (formerly of Greenpeace) played the trumpet. You can watch and listen to the Corona-compliant performance in the video here.
Prof. Dr. Jetta Frost, UHH Vice President for Transfer, emphasised the importance of the Deutschlandstipendien, especially during the Corona pandemic, and thanked the sponsors for their generous support. The excellence scholarship of 300 euros per month is funded half by the federal government/state of Hamburg and half by non-governmental sponsors.
Under the motto "Think future - act in solidarity!", we are looking for more donors. Find out more here!
