KURI

This research project explores the tension between preventive and penal approaches in dealing with radical Islam. The aim is, on the one hand, to examine what society demands from the government and civil institutions. On the other hand, the project examines how the problem of radical Islam is perceived and what concepts, methods and possible actions are available to politics, administrative bodies, security agencies and civic groups in order to respond appropriately to radical Islamists in Germany and Europe.

KURI is a joint research project by the IFSH and the Peace Research Institute Frankfurt (PRIF). The project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) with a total amount of EUR 1.36 million.
